  • Michael Cohen said the New York investigation into the Trump Organization would “finish the entire company.”
  • Cohen said investigators have what it takes to “finally take down” the company.
  • Cohen predicted that one or two of Trump’s children may have to “fall on the sword for him.”

Former President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen believes that an investigation into possible fraudulent practices at the Trump Organization would be what will put an end to the company.

Cohen, who worked for Trump and was his fixer and confidant for a decade, spoke with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Wednesday, weighing in on the ongoing investigation in New York of the Trump Organization.

2018. Cohen pleaded guilty crimes, including tax evasion, campaign finance violations and bank fraud. He was convicted in December that year to three years in prison and deprived of liberty in February 2019 Supreme Court of New York.

Cohen told MSNBC that the investigation launched by the New York state attorney general’s $250 million civil suit against the Trump family “will finally bring down the Trump Organization – Donald, Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Weisselberg, McConney and the rest.”

“This will put an end to the whole company,” he added.

Cohen referred to Allen Weiselberg, the Trump Organization’s former CFO, who admitted in August to orchestrating the organization’s payroll tax avoidance scheme, and Jeff McConnie, Weiselberg’s right-hand man.

“I’ve sat on mountaintops and shouted for three and a half, four years that the Trump Organization is a criminal enterprise and dear old Donald threw me under the bus,” he said.

Cohen also claimed that one or two of Trump’s children may have to “fall on the sword” for their father. Three of Trump’s oldest children — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump — are named in James’ lawsuit.

Reminiscent of shout that he received from James when she announced the lawsuit Wednesday, Cohen said he felt he was “finally getting credit” for his role in the investigation. James is also trying to ban Trump from doing business in New York and has accused the former president of inflating his net worth by billions.

Representatives from Trump’s post-presidential press office and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.
