Ted Lasso and his team, AFC Richmond, will officially be part of FIFA 23. EA Sports announced this with a trailer detailing their collaboration with the popular Apple TV+ show.

Official announcement on EA Web page reads: “…Ted Lasso, coach Beard and the AFC Richmond squad’s biggest stars, including Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent and Isaac McAdoo, will all be authentically integrated into FIFA 23, along with Nelson Road – the club’s home ground” . The video ends with Jason Sudekis’ voice in the background saying, “EA Sports, I’m in the game,” which is the most Coach Lasso thing ever.

AFC Richmond will be playable in Career Mode, Online Friendlies, Kick-Off and Online Seasons. Players will also be able to select Richmond’s Nelson Road stadium in both modes. In FIFA Ultimate Team, you’ll be able to customize kits and TIFOs, and you’ll also choose between Coach Lasso and Coach Beard to lead your team as a manager. Ted Lasso recently won multiple Emmy Awards and the series is popular with audiences around the world.

There are also a bunch of other additions and changes to the game that look pretty exciting. The brand new HyperMotion2 technology used in the game promises a realistic experience as players push, dribble and move off the ball. To add to the excitement, Marvel will also design special player cards for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team mode. They will celebrate legendary players who have turned into heroes for their clubs, and each of these heroes will also receive a separate illustrated version when the World Cup mode is added later this year.

FIFA 23’s career mode will include an RPG-style personality scoring system. Furthermore, EA has tweaked Ultimate Team to include a new game mode and a revamped chemistry system. The Croatian national football team is also returning to the game after 11 years.

FIFA 23 launches on September 26, 2022 on all major platforms.
