For Pakistan, this is a big step forward to join the international community on Web3, blockchain and digital assets. This project has attracted the support of the government, the largest telecommunication company in Pakistan, and the fastest growing web3 company working together.
Fasset has partnered with the Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, as part of their Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) to educate 1 million young people about blockchain, web3 and crypto-based technologies. The partnership, in association with JazzCash, the country’s largest telecommunications company with over 75 million customers, will work on the Agency’s Skills for the Future agenda, bringing much-needed education to the masses.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Youth Affairs, Her Excellency Shaza Khwaja says: “The government of Pakistan has been working tirelessly for years to develop skills for youth across the country, but I believe the private sector has great opportunities for young people when it comes to preparing for the future. The Prime Minister’s vision is to work on areas with high economic impact – such as digital skills for the future. This forms the basis of PMYP’s partnership with Fasset. I hope our youth will take advantage of this opportunity to learn from qualified industry experts and the world of opportunities that are opening up.”
“Pakistan is among the top 3 Web3 adopters in the world. Additionally, Pakistan is home to some of the world’s best and brightest developers, researchers and scientists when it comes to tokenization, digital assets and blockchain technology. In tandem with PMYP, Fasset hopes to build awareness and educate the next generation of web3 adopters on the safe, responsible and innovative development and adoption of the future of this game-changing space. We believe that with the right building blocks, Pakistan’s talented youth can unlock $100 billion in potential economic growth.” – Mohammad Raafi Hossain, CEO of Fasset
Murtaza Ali, Acting CEO, JazzCash said, “This partnership will improve financial literacy by reaching millions of youth in underprivileged areas through digital media. JazzCash is proud to be the financial driver for all transactions to be made for the next phases of the program. We are very interested in forging alliances with like-minded organizations to further our mission of a financially inclusive Pakistan.”
The Central Asian country’s Vision 2025 aims to raise domestic digitization for its youth population of 63% between the ages of 15 and 33. PMYP is a leading youth skills development programme.
For the youth skills development programme, two key areas will be addressed, covering Skills for the Future and Skills for All.
- Working together, both organizations will create a blockchain and web3 education curriculum. The curriculum will also include the technical skills that young people will need to forge a career in this domain, with a particular focus on enhancing the current world-class web3 developer base that exists in Pakistan.
- Fasset will work to create a financial literacy series that will empower young people, especially women and disadvantaged communities, to build their skills. This will lead them to invest and start earning passive income. Through this training, participants can also obtain certificates that will help them get a job in relevant fields.
- A National Award for Innovation in Web3, Blockchain and Related Emerging Technologies will be presented. Both parties will participate in awarding the prize.
This partnership also aims to target Pakistani expatriates around the world as well as millions of young people in Pakistan to improve financial literacy in impoverished areas. JazzCash will act as the financial driver of this arrangement for all transactions required for the upcoming phases of the program and has shown keen interest during stakeholder meetings in forging alliances with like-minded organizations to further its mission of a financially inclusive Pakistan.
Pakistan has one of the largest freelancer communities globally, including some of the best web3 developers, and Fasset believes that equipping Pakistan’s youth with some of the most in-demand skills will boost the freelance economy as per the PMYP leadership’s vision.
The partnership will impact around one million young people over the course of a year, creating learning and work opportunities with significant economic impact.
