President Joe Biden’s approval rating improved to its highest level since December at 46 percent, a new poll showed.

According to a Politico-Morning Consult poll released Wednesday, 85 percent of Democrats said they approved of Mr. Biden.

The president’s approval rating remains low among Republicans, with only 10 percent saying they approve of his performance.

Among independents, the president’s approval rating was 35 percent.

The poll comes a week after an Associated Press-NORC Public Affairs Center poll showed the president’s approval rating rose to 45 percent from 36 percent in July.

Last month, a Gallup poll showed the president’s approval rating had risen to 44 percent — his highest in a year.

A new poll continues to show an improvement in Mr. Biden’s approval rating.

In recent months, his approval rating has dipped below 40 percent in May, June and July as inflation soared following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Recent polls have shown Democrats gaining momentum ahead of November’s midterm elections, and low ratings for his economic management come amid high inflation.

The new poll also found that if the midterm elections were held today, 46 percent said they would vote Democratic and 41 percent said they would vote Republican.

However, 14 percent of respondents said they did not know who they would vote for if mid-term elections were held today.

Republicans have faced a backlash since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade this summer, ending protected access to abortion.

In addition, Biden’s accusation that he portrayed Donald Trump as a fundamental threat to democracy also found resonance after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida and found classified documents belonging to the US government.

The Politico-Morning Consult poll was conducted earlier this month and has a margin of error of 2 percentage points for all respondents and 4 points for party breakdowns.
