The game formerly known as eSports Boxing Club (ESBC) has it was officially changed to Undisputedaccording to a YouTube video posted on the game’s official account featuring studio head Ash Habib.

The game has also changed its handle on all social media platforms.

A video detailing the name change and the reason behind it can be found below:

As Habib mentioned, the original name of the game could be considered a bit confusing. Although eSports has taken off and become one of the most successful directions in the video game industry, the term is exclusively associated with competitive games.

As eSports continues to be more precisely defined, it’s probably not in a publisher’s best interest to release a game with the term in the title unless the competitive gaming demographic is the only target.

Undisputed will aim to feed the eSports crowd, but not exclusively. The game featured an extensive fighter creation package, a large roster, and a career mode. The plan seems to be for Undisputed to be a more complete boxing experience aimed at fans of the competitive game, as well as casual players and those interested in a more realistic single-player journey.

The biggest question for Undisputed is when it will be released. We still don’t have a concrete date and many fans are getting upset and discouraged by the lack of information about this. Fans of boxing video games have seen projects like this come and go without an actual release over the past decade.

The project has grown significantly since it was originally announced and has attracted considerable attention.

Undisputed is no longer a small indie project and the developers in Steel City may be waiting for the right push to take it to the next level. It is doubtful that deals with Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, Tyson Fury, Todd Grisham and others will go through without an official announcement.
